About Me
I'm Hattie and my idea for Tidal Flow Yoga was born out of my love for yoga and water.
My classes are grounding and inclusive. I allow students the space and time to explore their own body and breath. I started practicing yoga over a decade ago, initially enjoying more dynamic styles of yoga such as Vinyasa and Ashtanga and Power Yoga.
After completing her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Bristol School of Yoga, my practiced has evolved to become something a little more gentle through the styles of Hatha and Restorative. I completed my Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training with Sally Parkes.
I love the transformative power of yoga alongside the simplicity of focusing on breath and movement. Tuning into the body and tuning out of the push and pull of life, enable my students to feel a little lighter by the end of class.
I take inspiration for my classes from the natural world, the changing seasons and the moon cycles. I team these themes with my anatomy and physiology knowledge to create a rounded practise for all. I have a particular interest in women's health and using yoga as a tool to support women through all seasons of life.
I love the connection water has with breath and a physical yoga practice. The rise and the fall of the breath is likened to the rising and retreating tide - the lovely wave-like ripple of the breath as it travels through the body.
Water love
Swimming and yoga have carried me through my 20s and early 30s, through pregnancy and now motherhood - and I am forever grateful to have these forms of movement and meditation in my life to carry me into the rest of my life. It wasn’t until my early 20s that I became more confident in the water, teaching myself front crawl and then a few years later gaining confidence swimming outdoors, enjoying the community and sense of calm it brought. I’ve done several years of winter outdoor swimming, and swam outdoors all throughout both my pregnancies.

Feedback from Sally Parkes Pregnancy Yoga Training School 'The insight that you so clearly have for pre and postnatal women is a special gift indeed Hattie, and any woman that you have in your class will be a lucky mama indeed!'
Allowing you to explore movement that feels right for you and your body. Allowing your own body to be the guide of your practice.
Grounding yoga practice connects you to the elements. It allows a sense of belonging as we move with the familiar rhythms of water, rooted to the earth. Rising with energy and retreating with rest as the season changes.
All students of all levels are welcome to my classes. I offer options for postures and adjustments, and teach in a way which is clear and understandable so that you can confidently come into the postures.
